Nigeria: Chibok Burns Again - As Gunmen Kill 51, Burn Churches, Houses
Maiduguri — Gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram Islamic sect, yesterday, attacked some communities in Chibok and Biu local government areas of Borno State, killing no fewer than 51 people.
Those killed were mostly Christian worshippers. Five churches including Cocin, EYN and Deeper Life Bible Church in Kwada village, about 10 kilometres from Chibok were also burnt down when the gunmen laid ambush on them during church service....."
 
Catholic bishop urges Muslims to show love, care

The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Bishop Alfred Martins, has enjoined all Muslims to rededicate themselves to charity during Ramadan and show love and care to their neighbours.
This is contained in a Ramadan message signed by the Director of Social Communications, Msgr. Gabriel Osu, on Saturday in Lagos.
In the message, he said the 30-day Ramadan fast should be a solemn period for the Muslims to reach out to the less privileged in the society.
Martins also called on Muslims to use the period to work together with people of other faith toward building a just and equitable society.
He said this was necessary especially during this crucial period in the nation’s history characterised by insecurity and unprecedented loss of innocent lives.
ENUGU--AS part of efforts to forestall attack on the church by Boko Haram insurgents who are feared to have invaded the South Eastern states, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, yesterday, conducted thorough screening of its members before allowing them into the Sunday services...."
