Actually, aside from all the above rhetoric - I've always thought that mermaids in mythology made perfect sense.
Life started in the sea - and the life giving form is female and there would have been some life forms that made the transition onto land and others that could not - although they came close.
Either way - I still love Mermaids!

make me think that when Romish baptism forces to sprinkle water on unaware babies, he is alluding superficially to Noah, but in the other OCCULT face of the medal (Roman Catholic occult mysteries) the ones "emerged from waters" alluded to are not the Family of Noah, from when we descend, but the damned souls of the others remained outside and died in their wickedness rebellion of God. The wicked ones wiped away by the Flood were unaware of God's judgement like a just-born baby.
