"The national ANPI [national ass. of Italian partisans] joins and participates in the demonstration promoted for 1pm on 9 September in front of Montecitorio against the approval of the so-called "anti-Semitism bill" because it hides the possibility of a very serious damage to the rights of political, cultural and academic freedom, thus affecting the manifestations of critical positions towards Israel, its policies and its responsibilities towards the Palestinian people.
The contrast and condemnation of anti-Semitism, an expression of groups that refer to supremacist, xenophobic and racist ideologies, condemned by history and which violate art. 3 of the Constitution, has been, is and will be a constant commitment of the ANPI which on several occasions has also requested and solicited the intervention of the institutions responsible for respecting Italian laws.
Together, the National Committee reiterates the importance of a frank, open and continuous dialogue with the Jewish communities at both a national and territorial level - particularly in such a tragic historical moment - for the search for common ground on the issues of anti-fascism and the celebrations of April 25th, in the clarity of political confrontation.

The National Committee reaffirms that ANPI—drawing upon the founding principles of the Resistance, the Italian Constitution, and international law—has consistently taken a firm stance condemning Israeli policies toward the Palestinian people. The events unfolding in Gaza cannot be viewed merely as a military operation, and certainly never as an act of self-defense; rather, they constitute the systematic destruction of a people through the mass killing of civilians—including thousands of children—the deliberate destruction of hospitals, schools, universities, and places of worship, the imposition of living conditions incompatible with survival, the blocking of humanitarian aid, and the use of starvation as a weapon of war.
Furthermore, the violence unleashed by settlers—backed by Israeli military forces in the West Bank—is intolerable; it violates international law and UN resolutions, and serves only the objective of the total or partial destruction of an entire population.
ANPI’s National Committee denounces the Italian government's complicity in Israel's criminal policy, noting that the government has failed to halt arms trade with Tel Aviv and has actively opposed the suspension of the trade agreement between the European Union and Israel—despite the fact that said agreement was explicitly conditional upon respect for human rights.

For ANPI, the Palestinian issue is not merely geopolitical but profoundly ethical and historical. The association invokes the duty of remembrance: those who have witnessed fascism, deportations, racial laws, and crimes against humanity cannot remain indifferent to the plight of the Palestinian people, who have been deprived of their rights, their land, and their future.
In this context, defending the Palestinian people is never equated with antisemitism—which ANPI unequivocally condemns.
On the contrary, we reaffirm the steadfastness of our principles and values, mindful of the Jewish people's deeply painful history—marked by persecution and discrimination—which culminated in Nazi-Fascism, the racial laws of 1938, and ultimately the abyss of the Shoah.
ANPI’s position on Palestine is rooted in a vision consistent with the values of the Resistance, anti-fascism, and the Italian Constitution: opposition to all forms of colonialism, apartheid, and genocide; defense of international law; active solidarity with oppressed peoples; and the struggle against every form of racism and racial discrimination.
ANPI remains firmly convinced of the right of all peoples to self-determination, as established by national and international law; for this reason, it reiterates its call for the Italian government to immediately recognize the State of Palestine.
