"I", says God, not "you", i.e. Israel, the Jews. God will gather His people, not they by themselves. 

That verse has to be taken literally because it is announcing an event in the future which will be performed only by God, a wonder that will show God's hands and His sovereignity over the world. To interpret that verse allegorically in order to let any kind of human politicians to steal a vague semblance of "divine sanction" just because he's able to transfer Jewish people from any nation in the world to Israel, is a full slap in God's face. It is a robbery of God exclusive prerogatives. 

Catholics, Orthodoxies, Reformed Christians, etc., they believe that God eliminated forever the Jews and they are the "new Jews", the "new Israel". This is a total horror and an heresy against the words of God in His Bible.

The Zionists, Christians or Jewish, are also walking blasphemies on two legs. It is true that God will restore Israel in the End of the Times, but it will happen with wonders and miracles, as that "I" of Jeremiah 23:3 clearly affirms.

In this case, as this is not directly involved in the satanic cult of the 'modern' Israel aka ZombIsrael (Zionism), they allow the literal interpretation, which is correct. The first to come on the scene is the false Christ, but this guy will not be able to perform the wonder or miracle of a restored nature without death and sufferance, as it was before the rebellion of Adam and Eve. Only the true Christ will be able to eliminate the curse by which the rebellion of Adam and Eve introduced death, pain, sorrow in the world. This will be the proof that He is the true Christ. And the other a false Christ. 

At the same guise Jeremiah 23:3 works as "safety device", to avoid that false prophets and false Christs could fake a return of the tribes of Israel, a sleight of hand or a scam with which then to present themselves as "true Messiah". Notice again, for the 1000th time, in order to be lord over all the world, the world must submit to the lord, hence the whole world must be in PEACE. A global, world-wide peace. Of course the narcissism of the POTUS is instrumental to that "all on earth shall worship him"; if you are not a selfish, egocentric, narcissistic character, it is difficult for you to be settled in a condition where all the the world will admire and hence worship you. So the psychopathological features of President Trump are favorable to impersonate a false messiah,  a good reason for being worshiped. In this way another feature of the Final Antichrist is realized and introduced in the world by this comedian. 

Another detail. The lust for women, especially young ones, dangerously young (friendship and proximity with the Epstein ring of pedophilia) seems to deny Daniel 11:37.

That “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.” Beside to note here that "magnify himself above all" in perfect armony with his narcissism, and the disregard for the "God of his fathers... nor regard any god" which is evident from his blatantly false and staged comedies about his "Christianity", (evidently a mimetic stance to cover a fundamental lack of fear for any kind of god), there's that lack of interest for women of the real Antichrist, a lack of interest denied by the sexually perverted and adulterous lust of the President for young females . But also this dissonance with Scripture can be exploited by the Devil. In this case the contradiction is useful to make the President not to much akin to the coming Antichrist, a camouflage useful in order to be not easily identified with the Son of Perdition and therefore to avoid that the pedagogical example of his person may be debunked and openly declared as fruits of the works of darkness.
